David Misko

Treasurer

My name is David Misko. Simi is such a wonderful place to live and raise kids, now having raised all three, I finally have more free time to offer what help I can to worthwhile charitable organizations here in our city. I have served on the Simi Valley Crime task Force, as well as other non-profits, and very much enjoying my 7th year with the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation.

The Arts Center is close to my heart, as I was once a “want to be” child actor. While my logistics business of 30 years keeps me hopping, I enjoy wine tasting on weekends, and spending time with family and friends taking in a good performance

Marie Bennett

Vice President Development

I moved to Simi Valley from Sherman Oaks in 1999. I was a volunteer in New York as well as in Sherman Oaks for various charities. In 2007 I joined the Board of the SVCACF where I’ve held several positions, and I am currently the Immediate Past President. I have enjoyed the 12 years that I’ve been here especially working on our main fundraising event…..the Annual Spotlight Awards. I am eager to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cultural Arts Center.

I want to continue to support the Foundation, whose main focus it is to help build an Endowment of $1,000,000 that will insure that the Cultural Arts Center will be in a position to continue to offer it’s excellent programming that will entertain folks for many years to come.

Nico Martin

Director

I was born and raised in the Philippines and I earned my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree in University of Santo Tomas. I worked in the Philippines as an Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Supervisor in building 5 geothermal power plants and 2 high voltage substations.

In the mid-90s, I got married and moved to New Jersey, USA. Five years later we had our first adorable child and another one the following year. In 1999, I earned a diploma in computer programming at “The Chubb Institute” located in downtown New York City. I worked as an Automation consultant for Pfizer Pharmaceutical in Brooklyn, New York for 6 years and then transitioned to work for Schneider Electric. In 2007, my family and I moved to California for the great weather and to be closer to our family and friends. Now our kids are teenagers, they are very beautiful and well-mannered individuals.

I am currently working for The Walt Disney Company where I had the opportunity to see high quality live shows. I earned my MBA degree in 2017 which gave me a lot of knowledge about business. However, I am still learning and hoping that I could start a new business that could help solve many people’s problems.

My family are patrons of the arts and we occasionally bring friends with us to watch the live shows at this beautiful Arts Center. My favorite show ever is “Mama Mia”. My children benefited in participating in one of Summer Theater Class at the Center where they experienced the joy of acting, the gain of self-confidence, the enhancement of their social and public speaking/presentation skills.

I have been a member of the Board of Directors for the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Foundation since 2019. It is a great privilege for me to be part of this great organization. My goal is to work with the Cultural Arts Foundation to help raise the endowment fund in order for the Center to deliver the Arts to the community continuously.
