Marie Bennett   Marie Bennett - As a member of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation since 2007, Marie has served as President for two years and as Secretary for five years. Marie has a comprehensive background in business management and finance. She worked in the management office of the Donna Summer organization where she was credited on a one million seller album and on a television special. Since 1985 Marie has been preparing people for financial security as a Series 6-licensed Financial Advisor. As a lifetime volunteer, Marie began in Simi Valley as a Docent at the Ronald Reagan Library for 8 years.  Marie graduated is a 2007 graduate of the Simi Valley Leadership program and since then she's been on the Steering Committee serving both as Chair and Facilitator. Marie was the recipient of the 2013 Simi Valley Humanitarian Award and she was named the 2015 "Woman Of The Year" by the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation.
Jenny Boyce   Jenny Boyce - Jenny is a commercial interior designer and owner of Design Elements, located in Warner Center since 1997, recently opening in Simi Valley.  Prior to that, Jenny was the Design Director for a Herman Miller dealer.  Design Elements has prospered through referrals and has completed projects in Boston, Chicago, New York and Virginia as well as California. Clients include Fortune 500 companies and local doctors, government and corporate offices.  Jenny is a Certified Designer in California by the CCIDC.  She has served on the CSUN Interior Design Advisory Board and their Intern Program.  Jenny served as President of Executive Women International, San Fernando Valley Chapter, for 2 years of her 10 year membership.  Jenny is an active volunteer in the Simi Valley community, her home of 35 years, serving the Boys and Girls Club, the Simi Valley Historical Society as well as Crestview Elementary School.  She has served on the Board of the SVCACF since 2012. 
Larry Borovay   Larry Borovay - A resident of Simi Valley for over 25 years, Larry has been an active participant and leader within the arts community.  He has done a number of television show walk-ons, and he opened a business in 2005 that provided avenues for the public display and gallery exhibition of artists’ works.  Since then he has developed a number of personal relationships with celebrity entertainers and local artists, some of whom he represents professionally.  Besides his service on the Cultural Arts Center Foundation Board, Larry is a long-time Member of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise.  He is an active member of the Rotary Board and current Entertainment Director for the Cajun & Blues Festival for the 4th year in a row.  Since 2007 Larry has been a volunteer Disaster Service Worker assigned to the Emergency Services Unit of the Simi Valley Police Department.
Kindah Brennan   Kindah Brennan - Kindah is owner and founder of the award-winning Simi Valley graphics company, Bezign. With a passion for supporting and sharing the arts, Kindah has taught a wide variety of college-level art courses for the past decade.  She holds a Master of Arts in Art History with a specialty in the Arts of Asia.  She has curated a number of student art exhibitions and has served on a variety of local and nationwide curriculum committees within the Arts and Humanities. Kindah has regular involvement with art shows, exhibits, lectures, and symposia. Kindah is an active member of her community, volunteering much of her time as member of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Simi Valley Historical Society, and the Women's Information Network. She is a graduate of the 2013 Simi Valley Leadership Program.
Ronald Knepper   Ronald Knepper - Ron is a visual artist who has lived in Simi Valley for 5 years. He is currently teaching visual arts at a private school in Los Angeles County, and previously taught various courses at Parsons School of Design in NYC for over 13 years. As a professor, Ron has also taught in Turkey, Fort Wayne, IN, and lectured in England. From 2005-2006, he was a seasonal sculptor for Macy’s Parade Studio creating objects for the Thanksgiving Day Parade Floats. He has created props and sculpture, and he has also performed, for theatre productions in the past. He is a recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and a Master’s Fellowship. Knepper received his MFA degree from Mills College; his MA degree from New Mexico State University; and his BFA degree from Indiana University. His works are in various Private and Public collections.
Michael Kort   Michael Kort - Mike has lived in Simi Valley since 2006. He has been an independent Life & Long Term Care insurance broker since 1990.  He has his Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge. He is a graduate of the following community programs: 2016 Simi Valley Leadership, Citizens Academy, CERT Training and he is an active Leader in the Boy Scouts of America.  He sat on the Neighborhood Council and he's a member of the Simi Sunset Rotary. He wants to help make the SVCAC a place that is well recognized for it's quality performances and wonderful ambiance for all ages to enjoy.
Chris McCarty   Chris McCarty - Chris McCarty enjoys life as a  teacher, small business owner in Simi, accomplished musician, and arts advocate and has always been eager to promote artistic endeavors and arts education in her hometown of over 25 years. She is most interested in developing a collaborative approach to the arts throughout Ventura County; artists working with other artists, creating new works  together and developing projects that speak to the old and young alike. With that in mind, supporting the productions at the SV Cultural Arts Center, promoting educational programs for youth and opportunities for young artists, and planning for a  future of preservation for the Cultural Arts building itself is foremost in her mind.
David Misko   David Misko - David Misko has served on the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation since 2013.  For more than 30 years he has served the community as owner and operator of a local logistics business.  As a childhood actor, the Cultural Arts Center remains close to his heart.  He has raised three children in Simi Valley and believes that it is a wonderful city.  David has been happy to give back to a number of other worthwhile charitable organizations and he has served on the Simi Valley Crime task Force, as well as other non-profits.  He enjoys attending live theater and wine tasting in his free time.


Becky Savell   Becky Savell - Becky Savell has been a board member of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Foundation and Commission for several years. Her activities in community service include serving as President of the Rotary Club of Simi Valley 2014-2015, Board Member, Coalition for Family Harmony, Advisor, Moorpark College Photography Program, and Advisor, Young Entrepreneur Association of California. She is an independent Financial Advisor focusing on financial education and expanding positivity through social awareness. She has a background in advertising, technology, music, and entertainment and spearheaded the development of several online entertainment companies. Becky has a degree in Photography from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and continues to create as a photographer and a producer.
Gerald Smith   Gerald Smith - Gerald Smith is a medical device manufacturing specialist, with an earned NTMA (National Tooling and Machining Association) journeyman license as a tool and die maker. Gerald is involved in his community and through his church he has served on the Simi Valley Neighborhood Council as Chairman of NC#2. Gerald is also an alumni and current chair of the Chamber of Commerce Simi Valley Leadership Program. Gerald was appointed to the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation in 2003 by the Mayor of Simi Valley with the full support of the City Council. He serves the board in a number of capacities but he is most focused on board governance.
Kathy Smith   Kathy Smith - Kathy recently joined the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation and she is serving as the current Secretary of the Board.  She began her love of the Arts by participating in Summer productions of Broadway musicals at Royal High School in the 1970's.  She retired from law enforcement 5 years ago.  Since then she has volunteered for various organizations.  She has helped during the Rotary Club's 4th of July celebration, Share the Road bike ride fundraiser, Girl Scout leader and AYSO soccer coach.  She is a Charter Member of Soroptimist International of Simi Valley which has also afforded various volunteer activities.  Kathy is excited that her love of the Arts has come full circle and she can now help to preserve Simi Valley's Cultural Arts Center for future generations.
Gary M. Thomas   Gary M. Thomas - Mr. Gary M. Thomas is Senior Vice President and Creative Director of Aaron, Thomas & Associates in Chatsworth.  The company specializes in creative consulting, design, printing and direct mail services to the political sector throughout the United States. Mr. Thomas’ community service and volunteerism has spanned over 37 years and has involved Chambers of Commerce, youth development and anti-gang organizations, leadership and business impact programs and non-profit health organizations. Gary Thomas is a Past President of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation and serves as a board member of the Simi Valley Arts Alliance. He has served on over 30 non-profit boards and is currently the Chairman of the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley and the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra.  In 2011, Gary received the Fernando Award, awarded for a lifetime of civic accomplishment.  It is recognized as one of the most prestigious awards of its kind in the nation.
